🌟 DNAngels Volunteer of the Month – April 2025: Jessica Helms 🌟

We are thrilled to celebrate Jessica Helms as our April 2025 Volunteer of the Month at DNAngels!

Jessica has made history by becoming our first-ever three-time Volunteer of the Month winner, having previously earned this honor in October 2023 and July 2024. Her unwavering dedication, compassionate spirit, and tireless support of our clients and team members continue to set her apart.

Jessica’s journey with DNAngels began when she experienced a DNA Surprise herself. After discovering she was an NPE (Not Parent Expected), DNAngels helped her uncover the truth about her biological familyβ€”gaining two brothers, a sister, and two nieces she never knew. Moved by her own experience, Jessica joined the Intake Team to help others navigate the same emotional and life-changing path she once walked.

Born and raised in North Carolina, Jessica is a vibrant force both inside and outside DNAngels. She is a devoted mother to her 11-year-old, an outdoor enthusiast who loves camping and boating, and a passionate advocate for animals, caring for her 3-year-old rescue dog and fostering others whenever possible. Professionally, Jessica is a Childcare Center Director, a role she embraces with love and dedicationβ€”so much so that in 2022, she stepped in to save a center from closure, ensuring dozens of children and families continued to have a safe place to learn and grow.

Balancing work, school, and family, Jessica still finds the time to lift up others at DNAngels, offering steady support and encouragement to her fellow volunteers and the many clients who reach out in search of their biological truth.

Tammy Ramos, Intake Team Lead and Jessica’s mentor, shares:

“Jessica consistently goes above and beyond to support the team. Her personal and professional growth has been incredible to witness. While managing school, a full-time job, and family responsibilities, she still finds the time and energy to contribute meaningfully. She’s always willing to step in and cover for me when needed, and she goes out of her way to assist the team by answering questions and offering support when I’m not available. Her dedication, reliability, and positive attitude make a real difference.”

Jessica’s heart for helping others and her steadfast commitment to our mission are truly remarkable. She is a living example of the DNAngels spiritβ€”compassionate, resilient, and unstoppable.

Jessica, we are so proud of you and grateful to have you as a part of the DNAngels family. Congratulations on another well-deserved recognition!
