Liza Ceballos was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and grew up in South Florida. Ten years ago, she purchased an at-home DNA kit to learn more about her ethnicity, which ignited her passion for understanding the complexities of her family tree. This journey led her to realize the importance of DNA in uncovering family connections, and she soon began helping others in her community, often teaching them how to navigate Puerto Rican records.

By 2023, Liza was approached by a good friend to help as a researcher for Puerto Rican cases at DNAngels. These cases are often complex due to factors like endogamy, language barriers, and cultural differences, but Liza knew her community needed representation. She dove in headfirst, embracing the challenges and rewarding experiences along the way. Helping countless clients, she remains driven by her core belief in the importance of helping others. “Every day, my heart grows with every person we can help,” she says, reflecting her deep dedication to her work.
