DNAngels Announces 2025 Board of Directors
CARBONDALE, Ill. – DNAngels is proud to announce its 2025 Board of Directors, continuing its mission to provide investigative genetic genealogy services to individuals seeking biological family connections. With an international presence and nearly 7,000 cases solved, DNAngels remains committed to reuniting families and uncovering the truth behind DNA surprises.
Returning Board Members:
Blaine Bettinger – President
Blaine Bettinger, Ph.D., J.D., is a renowned genetic genealogist and author, widely known for his contributions to the field. He has written The Family Tree Guide to DNA Testing and Genetic Genealogy and co-authored Genetic Genealogy in Practice. Blaine has played an instrumental role in advancing DNAngels’ mission and continues to be a guiding force in genetic genealogy.
Steven Jackson – Vice President
A marketing executive at Johnson & Johnson and former professional football player with the New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers, Steven Jackson brings his leadership expertise and passion for DNAngels’ mission to the board. His commitment to helping people uncover their biological origins has made a significant impact on the organization.
Laura Olmsted – Founder and Executive Director
As the founder and Executive Director of DNAngels, Laura Olmsted has been instrumental in the organization’s growth. Under her leadership, DNAngels has reunited thousands of families across the world, providing support and guidance to those seeking answers about their origins.
Christine Mancinas – Treasurer
Christine Mancinas ensures the financial stability of DNAngels, managing resources with transparency and accountability. Her expertise helps sustain DNAngels’ mission and allows the organization to continue offering its invaluable services to those in need.
Jennifer Schwibinz – Secretary
As Secretary, Jennifer Schwibinz plays a key role in board administration, record-keeping, and organizational management. Her dedication to maintaining efficient communication ensures the smooth operation of DNAngels’ initiatives.
Christopher Smith – Advisor
Christopher Smith provides strategic guidance to DNAngels, leveraging his expertise in organizational development to support the organization’s growth and long-term vision.
Dr. Nicole Price – Advisor
Dr. Nicole Price contributes her extensive knowledge in leadership and innovation to DNAngels, helping the organization navigate challenges and expand its impact in the field of genetic genealogy.
New Board Members:
Lara Schultz – Liaison to DNAngels Staff
Lara Schultz is a dedicated genetic genealogist and project manager at DNAngels. She has been instrumental in volunteer recruitment, policy development, and co-hosting Lost & Found: No More Secrets. Lara has a strong background in philanthropy, having spearheaded educational initiatives and safety programs for students. Her expertise and dedication make her an invaluable addition to the board.
Tammy Ramos – Liaison to DNAngels Clients
Tammy Ramos has been a vital part of DNAngels since joining the Intake Team in 2022. She leads the Intake Team with compassion and professionalism, ensuring that clients receive the highest level of support during their search for biological connections. Beyond DNAngels, she is an advocate for animal welfare and volunteers at a wolf sanctuary.
