Detrian (Dee) Sanchez is a Search Angel with a passion for helping others discover their biological truth. She has a soft spot in her heart for those who find these ‘surprises’ in their families and understands the resulting roller-coaster of emotions since discovering her own NPE as a teen.
Dee has a natural talent for sleuthing, she’s curious, resourceful, and relentless about finding the answer! Her interest in solving biological mysteries for others began when she and a good friend decided to help someone they randomly met in a genealogy group about seven years ago to determine who their maternal grandparents were using DNA, and in an unforeseen twist, discovered two additional family members in the process. It was such a memorable and rewarding experience that she wanted to continue, and was soon helping extended family members and friends. Dee is thrilled and honored to use this passion to assist DNAngels clients. When not at the computer digging for clues, she is likely deep into a true crime show/podcast or relaxing with a jigsaw puzzle.
Dee is always eager to learn and frequently attends genealogical seminars, webinars and training courses, particularly those that focus on DNA. She is proud to have earned her Boston University Genealogical Research Certificate in Dec 2018.
Dee grew up in Northwest Indiana, lived in California for a bit, but ultimately settled in Texas which now feels like “home”. She’s married to her high-school sweetheart and they have raised two sons together.
