June’s Volunteer of the month is Heidi Billingsley Keuper! Heidi is blessed with the natural curiosity and determination to help others that makes a perfect storm for being a search angel. She and her sister, Cindy Billingsley Arocha, began their careers searching for their biological niece. Heidi’s natural talent led her to volunteer at several Facebook-based groups for those searching for biological families. Her skills and her compassion for clients caught Laura’s attention and … well you know what comes next, Laura could not resist the opportunity to make Heidi an offer to volunteer with DNAngels!
“I really enjoy listening to Heidi talk about her cases, I love her enthusiasm for figuring out the mystery so she can give her client the news. She is energetic and compassionate.” Says Team Lead Kate Penney Howard. Associate Director of Staffing, Aimee Rose Haynes says, “She strives to be a better Angel and always looking for a way to improve. She asks questions, watches the videos, and looks for ways to be better. She is always networking to bring more clients to DNAngels also which is awesome” And it isn’t just clients she is willing to jump in and help, Lead Intake Specialist, Enjoli DeLeon says that, “She helped me so much when I first started doing intake. She is an amazing lady and I’m honored to know her.” and that “Watching Heidi work is such a pleasure. She is empathetic and doesn’t mind lending a listening ear, no matter the story.”
Heidi is Assistant Team Lead, has served on the Paid Services Team, does Intake, Case Work and is frequently the caring ear that clients and Angels turn to when they have kvetching to do. “She is always very helpful and willing to jump in there and do what needs to be done,” says Team Lead Monia Pezzi. Her sparkling personality, wicked sense of humor and genuine caring for her clients make her a favorite among clients and Angels alike. Heidi also has, as of June 21, 2022 solved 100 cases for DNAngels!
Heidi hails from the great state of Texas, where she lives with her handsome hubby, Todd. She loves the beach, fishing, her children and grandchildren, who call her “Honey”. She lives her life by the motto “I could describe to you how I am a good person striving to live a better life, but showing you is better.”
