DNAngels Announces 2023 Board of Directors
CARBONDALE, Ill. – DNAngels has announced its 2023-2024 Board of Directors: Founder and Executive Director Laura Olmsted, Treasurer Christine Mancinas, Secretary Kelly Grace Hickey, Advisor Christopher Smith, Liaison to Angels and Intake Aimee Rose Haynes, and Advisor Dr. Nicole Price are all remaining in their positions. In January, long-time President Scott Horwitz stepped down, and Vice-President Blaine Bettinger, renowned Genetic Genealogist and author, accepted the position of President. Filling the Vice President role is Steven Jackson, a marketing executive for Johnson & Johnson.
“DNAngels has reunited thousands of families, providing connections and genetic heritage that might have otherwise been impossible to identify. I’m honored to be a small part of this wonderful organization!” says Bettinger, who has written several books on Genetic Genealogy, including, “The Family Tree Guide to DNA Testing and Genetic Genealogy” and “Genetic Genealogy in Practice”. He is responsible for the Shared cM Project and is a name every budding genetic genealogist and search angel knows.
Jackson is a current marketing executive, but astute football fans will recognize his name as a former All-American Wide Receiver from Hofstra University, who played professionally with the New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers. “I’m inspired by the DNAngels mission. I’m moved by their purpose driven commitment to change lives, by their support, compassion, and persistence to help so many identify life changing answers.”

DNAngels is based out of Carbondale, IL and to date has solved nearly 5,000 cases since its inception in 2019. 5,000 Adoptees, Donor Conceived Persons, NPEs (Not Parent Expected) and others searching for their biological parents can go to sleep knowing at last where they came from.
