Kim Reichelt is a Genetic Genealogist. By day, she is a management consultant who builds mathematical simulation models to solve strategic problems. This skill set served her well when she discovered genetic genealogy after her husband bought her test kits for Ancestry and 23&Me. That fateful purchase led to the start of a genealogy obsession that had her brushing up old Hebrew skills to read headstones and taking genealogy courses to advance her skills. After solving parentage cases for a couple of mystery matches on her own DNA match lists, she realized that solving these puzzles was the perfect combination of her love of a challenge and her desire to identify ways to help others. And this is what led her to DNAngels.
In her spare time, Kim volunteers as webmaster for several non-profits and serves on the board of the Lauren Dunne Astley Memorial Fund.
Kim has two grown children, and lives in Boston with her husband and their three cats.
