November’s Volunteer of the Month is Aimee Rose Haynes! Aimee came to DNAngels in February 2020 and quickly proved herself an asset to the group. She was originally the assistant to another Angel and you see it coming? LAURA STOLE HER. She was one of the first Team Leads when the teams were formed in January 2021 and has served on the Board of Directors as both the Secretary and the Liaison to Search Angels and Intake Specialists. “She really just stands out from the entire group”, says DNAngels Founder Laura Olmsted. “She’s always helpful.” October Volunteer of the Month, Ramona Folmar says of Aimee, “she worked cases on her iPad while caring for her daughter in the hospital, in the parking lot outside doctor’s appointments, she continues to offer excellent and timely customer service even through personal hardship.”
Aimee’s sunny disposition and caring nature endear her to her clients and the other volunteers alike. As a Team Lead, she has trained many new Angels, and like Ramona, she can answer those questions about the things we do not quite understand, like Y-DNA. She has way of being gracefully polite and approachable that makes her shine like a beacon of light in the organization, she truly embodies what an “Angel” is; but do not let her sweet demeanor fool you. She is fiercely loyal and will come to the aid of her friends and family without a second thought, and do NOT think of treating her friends and family badly, she will turn into a fierce mama bear!
Aimee began researching genealogy and DNA because of a rare medical condition her daughter has and believes everyone has a right to know their accurate family medical history. When she isn’t working cases, she loves spending time with her daughters and husband and picking burrs off her naughty dog, Eevee.
