Lara Schultz
Originally from Pennsylvania, Lara Schultz currently lives in North Carolina with her husband and three children. She’s from a large Italian family – she has six siblings, who are all very close. She’s worn many hats in her lifetime; she was an Industrial Engineer, has her MBA, teaches knitting, and most recently completed the Boston University Genealogical Research course that many of our other Angels and Researchers have completed. “Lara came to us in the summer and has been a powerhouse for the organization. She has found things for me and even farther more info on people close to the one I was requesting without me even having to ask. She told me she was a retired engineer with the brain for organization, and I see that in how she works! Her written reports are impeccable!” says Aimee Rose Haynes, Associate Director of Staffing.
Indeed many people are impressed with Lara’s skills, including her former Research Team Lead, Ashlee Krump, “Lara has been a thorough and detailed team member from the start! I had a wonderful time with her during her time on the research team.”
Katharine Saunders
Katharine is also a graduate of the BU Genealogical Research program, and although she has only been around for two months, she is getting noticed! This Texas Mom of three, a former middle school teacher, has made quite an impression on the other volunteers at DNAngels, “Katherine came to us less than two months ago and has done amazing. She has acclimated well with us and is always jumping in to help. I give out a query, and she jumps right on it the task no matter what it is. She also isn’t afraid of a hard case…. We’re working on two generations of NPE cases, and she is right there with me working this out. I paused on the case to sleep and woke up with lots of needed info added for me!” says Aimee Rose Haynes, Associate Director of Staffing. Katharine was nominated for her research skills, but she has already moved on to working as an Apprentice Angel with Kelly Grace. “Katharine has such a sweet temperament and is so wonderful to work with. I enjoy learning from her as much as I am (hopefully) helping her learn as well!”
Katharine studied Music Education and is skilled at doing both written presentations and reports, as well as creating audio/video presentations for her family and church. She is blessed with unfailing patience that helps when working with her favorite actors for her videos – her kiddos!
